Scripture reading and message given at Laura Elizabeth Smith Pettis' (1920-2014) funeral the day after Thanksgiving 2014, in Fort Payne, AL. The family and many friends were gathered together at the service, and there were numerous stories told about Lala. There was much laughter as folks reminisced, for in our grief we also celebrated a wonderful woman, the life she led that touched so many, and the hope we have in Christ that we will see her again.

Her many grandkids (of which I, Roger, am one) and great-grandkids lovingly call her Lala - hence the title.
The blue book mentioned in the homily was compiled and written by both Sophia and Nancy Virginia - Lala's daughters. I misspoke in the message saying it was written by Nancy and Lala.
